Synopsis & Discussion
Forecaster: -M. Pace
Yesterday, PM-2.5 rose into the Moderate AQI category and is still running higher this morning.

Today, our attention quickly turns to wind and dust. A strong area of low pressure currently moving through California will sweep through the region today bringing with it gusty winds in the 25-35mph range. These winds will be strong enough to pick up areas of blowing dust; however, the duration of the wind event is not anticipated to be long enough to result in a copious amount of dust, so PM-10 levels will remain in the Good AQI category.

High pressure will build into the region this weekend through the first part of next week which will result in clear skies and calm winds. This pattern will create stagnation so will be watching PM-10 and PM-2.5 values closely to see how they respond, especially given the local activity over the past couple days.
